One Dollar Dresser?! Prepare for a Pink-tastic Makeover!

Okay, buckle up buttercups, because you are NOT going to believe the thrift store steal my amazing friend just unearthed! Picture this: a solid dresser, brimming with potential, just waiting for its moment to shine… and she snagged it for a single, solitary dollar! Yes, you read that right. One. Buck. I practically did a happy dance when she told me!

But the story doesn't end there, oh no. This is where the fun really began. This wasn't just any dresser delivery; it came with a very specific, and dare I say, adorable design directive from my friend's daughter: PINK! And not just any pink – we're talking a delightful duo of Tea Rose and Gardenia, blended into a dreamy ombre effect. My creative gears were already turning!

Now, you know I love a good prep, so after a thorough clean (gotta get rid of those thrift store mysteries!), I laid down a coat of Bonding Boss. This magical potion ensures our gorgeous pink hues would adhere like a dream. Two coats in total and 24 hours before you paint!

Then came the color! Creating the ombre effect was pure joy, watching the Tea Rose and Gardinia gracefully blend into each other, giving the dresser a soft and whimsical vibe.

But wait, there's more! My friend's daughter had another brilliant idea – a raised stencil in Cozy Sweater on the sides of the dresser. Talk about a touch of texture and unexpected charm! Honestly, this stencil choice was perfection. It added this lovely, subtle detail that made the whole piece feel extra special and unique.

To create a raised stencil design I used Mud and sanded back the raised design when it was dry. I painted on one even coat to start of TEA ROSE. Then added the color pattern and while wet blended them with the Best Dang Brush. Trust me when I say for blending this brush will save your life! Need a video? Click Here!

To seal in all this fabulousness and protect our masterpiece, I applied a satin clear coat. But I wasn't quite done yet! To take the shine down just a notch and give it that perfect vintage-chic feel, a touch of wax was the final flourish.

And let's not forget the original hardware! These weren't your average knobs; they were shaped like the cutest little butterflies! A quick coat of gold spray paint transformed them into dazzling accents, adding a touch of glam against the soft pink.

The final reveal? Absolutely fabulous! This once-humble, one-dollar dresser is now a total showstopper, the perfect statement piece in my friend's daughter's room. It's proof that you don't need to break the bank to create something truly magical and personal.
